Tell Me More About Reports for Administrators in Catch Up with Coach
This article explains the purpose of- and how-to for generating the reports that are available for Catch Up with Coach. It is divided into two parts: Monitoring Progress and Management Reporting
Part 1: Monitoring Progress
There are multiple ways to monitor progress in Catch Up with Coach. The program offers a Progress Management report, Assessment (or Assignment) Reporting, and Skills Reporting.
The Progress Management report compares class data throughout a curriculum. The results shown are from the pre-unit and post-unit tests in each concept unit.
From the navigation bar, select the Reporting tab. The drop-down menu of report options is presented. Select Progress Management at the bottom.
Next, set the search criteria including the class name, subject, and grade level.
Then, place the cursor on the red bar to move it to the applicable proficiency level. The percentage will appear on the right-hand side and will change as the bar is shifted. Note that the unit pre- and post-tests are specified at the bottom of the graph.
(Note: to explore the library of unit pre- and post-tests in Catch Up with Coach, select Lesson Planner from the navigation bar. Then, set your criteria at the top of the page.)
For specific details, open the Assessment Reporting feature. This report provides assessment data and performance outcomes by skill. To begin, select the Reporting tab from the navigation bar. From the drop-down menu select Assessment Reporting.
Next, to narrow the results set the criteria for teacher, graded assignment, class, student, and proficiency level. For a school-wide list, set the fields to "All."
There are two options for viewing the reports: data by assessment and data by skill.
When Assessment is selected, a class performance summary is first presented. The percentages given represent results based on the proficiency level previously set. These are not specific assessment scores.
To view specific score data, select View Report for the applicable assessment.
When the Assessment Report opens, performance by item for each student is shown. Hover the mouse over any item box to view additional data for that question including class average and skipped questions to drill down further, select the bar graph icon next to a score to view a student's individual work.
The Review by Item report opens and details a student's responses, as well as their time on task. Scroll through the assessment to see each response.
Another avenue for analyzing student data is the Export Student Scores Report which generates a comprehensive spreadsheet. Set your criteria at the top to limit the scope of the results. Or, gain a school-wide view and set the fields to "All."
The format of the spreadsheet will resemble this:
Student data can also be viewed by skill. Select the skill tab from the Class Assessment Report page. Note that these are universal skills, not state-specific standards.
Hover the mouse over the skill number to view a description of it.
Next, select the Items hyperlink for the applicable skill to view each question.
Use the forward tab to view each assessment question and the answer distribution results.
Another option for viewing performance by skill is the Export Skills Summary report. Generating a CSV file gives administrators the flexibility to customize the format and order of the data. Set your criteria at the top to limit the scope of the results. Or, set the fields to "All" for a school-wide analysis.
The exported report will resemble this:
Part 2: Management Reporting
Is Catch Up with Coach being implemented with fidelity? Usage data (or Teacher Data) is also an important component of academic health. The following reports will give you that insight; the Teacher Account Summary report, the Product Usage Report, and the User Login Report.
The Teacher Account Summary includes the list of teachers who have accessed the program, the number of classes they've created, and the number of students placed in those classes. All information can be exported by selecting the Export as CSV tab at the bottom of the page.
Next, the User Login Report provides the list of all users (teachers and students) who have logged into the program, as well as the number of resources viewed (by teacher). The report can be filtered by usage date, and all data can be exported by selecting the Export as CSV tab at the bottom of the page.
In addition, the Product Usage Report shows how many times subject and grade level resources have been viewed, and the number of assignments that have been made for those resources. The report can be filtered by usage date and by teacher.
Selecting a resource opens its library including strands, standards (which are universal skills; not state-correlated), the assignment made using the resource, as well as the number of times the resource has been viewed.
