Practice Coach Plus Lessons focus on a single skill, making targeted work/practice easy. Students read multiple passages, which increases text complexity throughout the lesson. Opportunities to write throughout the lesson, and students respond by including evidence from the text. Hints provided as a scaffold in the first part of the lesson leading students to eventually answering on their own.

Error Analysis opportunities are available in each lesson for more writing and explaining mathematical processes. Two sets of Practice (if Practice is printed) give teachers options for assigning individual and group work in/out of class.

Support Coach Genre-specific lessons focusing on the skills needed to read and comprehend each genre. Lessons do NOT have to be done in any order, so teachers can select the genre and skills the students need to master. Whole group, small group, and individual reads in each lesson. Vocabulary development in each lesson. Respond to Text Writing opportunities in each lesson.

Each 3-part lesson includes one prerequisite and transition skill before students work on the grade-level skill.
