Configure your Microsoft Edge browser settings always to allow the microphone.
This article provides tips for enabling your microphone using the Microsoft Edge web browser. You must permit Microsoft Edge to access the mic on student devices.
How do I permit Edge?
Edge should ask permission to access the microphone the first time you use Reading Assistant. You should only need to give Reading Assistant permission once. They will see the following message at the top left-hand corner of your browser window: Click Allow.
How do I re-enable access to the microphone in Edge?
If you begin using Reading Assistant and get an alert about enabling your microphone at the beginning of a session, simply refresh your browser, and Edge will ask for permission again. If you are not prompted to allow access to a microphone, you may need to adjust your operating system settings to recognize it. See instructions in the next section.
