This is a guide for setting up and importing teacher .CSV files as part of manually rostering a school. This article does not apply to Clever rostered districts/schools. You can manually add each teacher account as well but importing a list of teachers can save time. The .CSV template can be found in the program or can be downloaded here: Download Sample Teacher .CSV File

Use the main drop-down menu at the top right and select Teachers to reach the Manage Teachers page.

The required spreadsheet fields are marked with an “(R)” to the right of the field name. They include the following:
Column A: Action (A/U)

  • "A" stands for Adding a new teacher

  • "U" stands for Updating an existing teacher

Column B: Username
Column C: Password

Column H: Email

Column I: Active/Inactive

If a teacher is currently teaching at your school, you will enter "Active" in this field. If they are no longer affiliated with your school, you will enter "Inactive" in this field.

Columns E and G, MI and Grade respectively, are usually left blank. If the grade level is used it must contain the word grade, for example: "Grade 3"

Although Columns D and F, the first and last name fields, are not required we strongly recommend adding each teacher's first and last name to their designated row.

Save the file (keep the file in .CSV format, DO NOT change the format.

Choose the saved CSV file and select the “Upload” button to load the file into the system.
