About Reading Assistant
Reading Assistant is like reading with your teacher or with anyone else. Sometimes (like when you're reading for a test) Reading Assistant will listen to you read and will not interrupt your reading. Other times, Reading Assistant will talk with you to help you with reading read and understanding understand the words. Reading Assistant may also ask you questions about the story you read.

Choose What to Do
Click/Tap Read a story to read a Practice story.
If reading a Practice story for the first time, Reading Assistant will begin the story after clicking/tapping Read a story.

If you are not reading a Practice story for the first time, Reading Assistant will give you choices for which story you would like to read.
Click/Tap the story of your choice.

Saving What You Read
After you are done reading with Reading Assistant, wait for a moment or two before closing your computer screen because Reading Assistant needs just a little bit of time to save your reading with her. You will see the The following message reminding reminds you to wait just a little bit while she finishes saving your reading.

Reading Assistant will ask you to wake up Spot to make sure that ensure your microphone is working.
Reading Assistant will explain the directions for taking the test/assessment and/or reading the story. She will encourage you to do your best! She will also remind you to speak clearly into your microphone, to sound out unknown words, and to skip words , if needed
Reading Assistant will count down by saying Ready, Set, Start!
Then, you will do your best while reading what Reading Assistant shows on your computer.

When reading a story, boxes will show on the bottom of the screen to let you know how many story pages have been completed
Keep reading until you are either finished with the whole story or until Reading Assistant let's you know that you do not need to read anymore

When you have finished reading, Reading Assistant will say, 'Thank you,' and you will see a message on the screen saying, “Great Work!” The message is for all the great work you did.
